Temaki is a version of sushi that is very easy to prepare and is recognized by its characteristic cone shape. In this recipe, the nori seaweed is rolled up on itself and stuffed with boiled rice and all the ingredients you like best.
Ingredients for 6 people:
- Rice for sushi 250 grams
- Fresh tuna 250 grams
- 1 avocado
- 3 sheets nori seaweed
- 1 cucumber
- 6 tsp rice vinegar
Take a bowl and let the rice soak in cold water for ten minutes, drain and repeat the operation. Boil the rice in abundant salted water for about 15 minutes. Let the rice cool in a bowl for at least 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, prepare the rice dressing by combining the rice vinegar, three tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Pour the sauce over the rice, stir and let it rest for about half an hour.
In the meantime, prepare the other ingredients: cut each sheet of nori seaweed in half to obtain two rectangles from each.
Peel the avocado and cucumber, then cut them into sticks about half a centimeter thick. Cut the tuna fillet into cubes or strips.
Start composing the temaki: place a generous spoonful of cold rice on the left side of the rectangular sheet of seaweed. Make a slight dimple in the center and arrange the vegetable sticks.
Continue adding the raw fish.
Form the cone by bending the left end inwards and wrapping the rest of the sheet around it.
